Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil as needed
  • 8 turkey burger patties (4 if you’re making single burgers)
  • Dr. BBQ’s Steak and Chop Seasoning or your favorite burger spices
  • 8 slices turkey bacon
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 8 hamburger buns
  • 4 leaves romaine lettuce
  • 4 slices onion
  • 4 slices tomato
  • BBQ sauce (Optional)

Directions

These are big hearty fun burgers, but you can make them singles if needed and they’ll be just as tasty.

Prepare an outdoor griddle or large skillet to cook at medium high heat.

Season the burgers with Dr. BBQ’s Steak and Chop Seasoning or your favorite burger spices.

Oil the griddle, then add the burgers. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the burgers are golden brown on the bottom.

Flip the burgers and add the bacon. Continue cooking and flipping the bacon until the burger patties reach an internal temp of 165°.

Add the buns to the griddle to toast them.

Top each patty with cheese and cover to melt the cheese.

Place the bottom buns on a platter and top each with a lettuce leaf, a slice of onion and a slice of tomato.

Top each bun with two (or one) of the burger patties and two slices of bacon.

Drizzle with a little BBQ sauce if desired, then add the bun tops. Serve immediately.
